Richard Somogyi was born on november 1971 in Budapest, Hungary. Beside of constant courses on fine art, he enrolled to the School of Polytechnic,

but later redirected his studies to concentrate on architecture and design.

In 1990, won a scholarship at the United Kingdom and took the course of Interior Architecture And Product Design at the Art Institute Of Bournemouth.

In 2000, formed a company with partners, specialized on AV integration and intelligent room control systems. While integrating this knowledge

deeply into interior architecture, turned towards further aims and found the purity of functional design in the brand Bang & Olufsen, which he presently

owns in Hungary with his friend and business partner.

Artifex Ltd (founded in 2007) is rather a creative studio, than a company, freely formed by craftsmen and designers, collaborating for actual projects,

ensuring fresh ideas from work to work.
